Hunter Hartmann
AKA Mallow, is a San Diego-born, Los Angeles-based music producer, sound designer, and musician. With over 15 years of experience playing guitar, bass, and drums for various touring bands, Mallow creates unique auditory experiences that blur the lines between genres. Drawing on inspiration from jazz, soul, R&B, hip-hop, rock, reggae, classical, ambient, and electronic music allows for a wholly individualized sonic experience guaranteed to evoke the desired emotions for any visual masterpiece.

Growing up in the small, ocean-surrounded town of Point Loma, Hunter was raised in and around the water. Surfing brought a deep connection to the environment and a sense of belonging in the natural world. This created a life-long engagement to observe and learn about the natural world. When he is not creating music or in the ocean, you can find him pulled over on the side of the road observing and documenting native flora and fauna, cooking, rock climbing, and shooting 35mm film.
Hartmann studied sustainable development and design, through an ecological lens, at Pitzer College, east of Los Angeles. After several years working in sustainable, urban agriculture, he realized the lack of support and subsidization of organic agriculture and ecological restoration on a national level is inherently deterring many young people from pursuing a career in these fields, no pun intended. Since departing from the plant world, Hunter has been focused on producing music full time. His drive to create the best, grooviest, and catchy pieces of music is fueled by a desire to help the earth heal and to teach people and enable them to take care of the planet.
